I went on a lovely trip to Naples recently. I was staying with my friend Pasquale, the bass player from my trio, in his hometown Bonea. We had a great time eating lots of pizza fritta, pasta frittatine, home cooked meals, gelato, and locally produced wine. Here are some photos from Naples, Bonea and Pompei.
First day in Naples. Unfortunately I wasn’t feeling very well on the first day so don’t have many pictures from that day. We had an interesting tour of some of the underground chambers which go back to Ancient Greek times and we were shown round by a somewhat eccentric young tour guide.

The next day we were lucky enough to experience an authentic Italian Sunday lunch. However it was more like an all day feast with course after course culminating in a bbq to wash everything down. Later we walked around and saw some more of Bonea

On the last day we went to Pompei and spent a little more time in Naples.
